Pupuk Indonesia Wins 4 BUMN Awards in 2026
PT Pupuk Indonesia (Persero)’s commitment to strengthening industrial efficiency and good corporate governance has received public recognition at the 2026 BUMN Awards ceremony.
The efforts to reinforce efficiency and governance at Pupuk Indonesia are considered capable of supporting the competitiveness of the fertiliser industry and long-term food self-sufficiency programmes.
Following these strategic initiatives, Chief Executive Rahmad Pribadi was named The Best CEO for Visionary Leadership in the BUMN and BUMN-listed subsidiary category.
Additionally, Pupuk Indonesia secured three further corporate awards: First place for Best Growth Strategy; First place for Best Strategic Collaboration; and Second place for Best Organisational Transformation.
“For Pupuk Indonesia, business transformation is essential through factory revitalisation improvements supported by strengthened governance as the main foundation to maintain company performance, and critically to reinforce our contribution to sustaining Indonesia’s food self-sufficiency,” said Rahmad Pribadi, according to a company statement on 12 March 2026.
The Best CEO for Visionary Leadership award was presented to Chief Executive Rahmad Pribadi for his leadership in strengthening efficiency and optimising production. These efforts include the development and revitalisation of seven factories over the next five years; ensuring the security of fertiliser raw material supply; and strengthening distribution capacity and networks across Indonesia.
Additionally, over the coming years Pupuk Indonesia is preparing several strategic development measures, including expansion and diversification of its product portfolio such as methanol development and derivatives; development of clean ammonia business; development of industrial support services, and others.
These strategic initiatives are simultaneously aimed at strengthening Pupuk Indonesia’s role in supporting more effective management of national subsidised fertiliser distribution, both in terms of logistics and production efficiency.
This aligns with Presidential Regulation Number 113 of 2026, which is a refinement of Presidential Regulation Number 6 of 2025. Through the efficiency gains achieved, the government for the first time in its history reduced the maximum retail price for subsidised fertiliser by 20 per cent in October 2025.
Pupuk Indonesia’s ability to maintain balance between business growth and executing the government mandate to ensure the availability and affordability of subsidised fertiliser for farmers contributed to the company winning First place for Best Growth Strategy.
In the Best Strategic Collaboration category (First place), Pupuk Indonesia was recognised for successfully strengthening strategic partnerships to enhance the company’s global competitiveness. For example, a strategic partnership with PETRONAS Chemicals Group Berhad to strengthen urea and ammonia supply chains, collaboration with Somiphos of Algeria to reinforce phosphate raw material supply, and others.
Additionally, Pupuk Indonesia actively participates in various international industry forums, including as a permanent board member of the International Fertiliser Association, serving as a speaker in global forums such as the Argus Fertilizer Asia Conference and the United Nations climate forum Conference of the Parties.
Meanwhile, the Second place award for Best Organisational Transformation was presented for Pupuk Indonesia’s successful execution of organisational transformation and sustainable human resource development. Through these transformation initiatives, Pupuk Indonesia continues to strengthen organisational capability whilst building an adaptive, innovative, and globally competitive work culture.
Beyond Pupuk Indonesia, several subsidiary companies and subsidiary leaders also received awards at the ceremony. PT Petrokimia Gresik Chief Executive Daconi Khotob received the Best CEO for Visionary Leadership award for subsidiary companies.
PT Petrokimia Gresik and PT Pupuk Kujang won the Best Company Growth Strategy award, whilst PT Pupuk Kalimantan Timur received the Best Business Innovation award.
“These awards are an incentive for us to continue improving efficiency, strengthening governance, enhancing performance, and ensuring that Pupuk Indonesia Group continues to contribute to supporting food self-sufficiency and national economic development,” said Rahmad.
The BUMN Awards, held for 15 years, is an appreciation programme for BUMN companies and subsidiaries, and serves as an instrument to encourage strengthened governance, optimisation of state assets, BUMN synergy, and economic value creation.
In this year’s ceremony, governance was a key focus of the assessment process to encourage and provide recognition to BUMN companies that demonstrate regulatory compliance, undertake institutional reform, and deliver strategic impact for national development.
