Pupuk Indonesia Receives Several Awards at the 2026 BUMN Awards - SDGs News
Jakarta, SDGs News – PT Pupuk Indonesia (Persero)’s commitment to strengthening industrial efficiency and implementing good corporate governance (GCG) has received recognition at the 2026 BUMN Awards. These efforts to enhance efficiency and governance are deemed capable of supporting the fertiliser industry’s competitiveness while reinforcing long-term food self-sufficiency programmes.
Due to various strategic initiatives undertaken by the company, Pupuk Indonesia’s President Director, Rahmad Pribadi, has been named the Best CEO for Visionary Leadership in the category of BUMN and Listed BUMN Subsidiaries. In addition, as a corporation, Pupuk Indonesia has won three other awards: First Place for Best Growth Strategy, First Place for Best Strategic Collaboration, and Second Place for Best Company Organisational Transformation.
“For Pupuk Indonesia, business transformation is a necessity through factory revitalisation improvements accompanied by strengthened governance as the main foundation to maintain company performance, and most importantly to strengthen contributions to the sustainability of Indonesia’s food self-sufficiency,” said Rahmad Pribadi.
The Best CEO for Visionary Leadership award was given to Rahmad Pribadi for his leadership in enhancing efficiency and optimising production. These efforts include plans to build and revitalise seven factories over the next five years, ensuring fertiliser raw material supply security, and strengthening distribution networks across Indonesia.
In addition, in the coming years, Pupuk Indonesia is preparing various strategic business development steps. These include expanding and diversifying the product portfolio through methanol and its derivatives development, clean ammonia business development, and strengthening industrial support business.
These various strategic initiatives are also directed towards strengthening the company’s role in supporting more effective national subsidised fertiliser governance, both in terms of distribution and production efficiency. This policy aligns with the mandate of Presidential Regulation Number 113 of 2026, which refines Presidential Regulation Number 6 of 2025. Through the efficiency achieved, the government has for the first time reduced the Highest Retail Price (HET) of subsidised fertiliser by 20 percent in October 2025.
The company’s ability to balance business growth with fulfilling the government’s mandate to ensure the availability and affordability of subsidised fertiliser for farmers has also led Pupuk Indonesia to win First Place in the Best Growth Strategy category.
In the Best Strategic Collaboration category, Pupuk Indonesia was assessed as successful in strengthening strategic partnerships to enhance global competitiveness. Some of these include collaboration with PETRONAS Chemicals Group Berhad to strengthen the urea and ammonia supply chain, as well as collaboration with Somiphos from Algeria to strengthen phosphate raw material supplies.
In addition, Pupuk Indonesia is active in various international industry forums, including as a permanent board member of the International Fertilizer Association and as a speaker at global forums such as the Argus Fertilizer Asia Conference and the United Nations Conference of the Parties.
Meanwhile, the Second Place award for Best Company Organisational Transformation was given for Pupuk Indonesia’s success in implementing organisational transformation and sustainable human resource development. Through these various initiatives, the company continues to strengthen organisational capabilities while building an adaptive, innovative, and globally competitive work culture.
In addition to the parent company, several Pupuk Indonesia subsidiaries also received awards at this event. The President Director of PT Petrokimia Gresik, Daconi Khotob, received the Best CEO for Visionary Leadership for BUMN Subsidiary award. Meanwhile, PT Petrokimia Gresik and PT Pupuk Kujang won the Best Company Growth Strategy award, while PT Pupuk Kalimantan Timur received the Best Company Business Innovation award.
“These awards serve as motivation for us to continue improving efficiency, strengthening governance, enhancing performance, and ensuring that the Pupuk Indonesia Group can continue to contribute to supporting food self-sufficiency and national economic development,” said Rahmad.
The BUMN Awards event itself has been held for 15 years as a form of appreciation for BUMN companies and their subsidiaries. This event also serves as an instrument to encourage strengthened governance, optimisation of state assets, BUMN synergy, and the creation of economic value for national development. In this year’s edition, governance aspects were one of the focuses of the assessment to encourage BUMNs that demonstrate compliance with regulations, implement institutional reforms, and provide strategic impacts for national development.
