Pupuk Indonesia Posts Rp8.51 Trillion Profit in First Half, Plans Business Expansion
State-owned enterprise PT Pupuk Indonesia (Persero) posted a net profit of Rp8.51 trillion in the first half of 2026, surging 253 percent compared to the same period last year. President Director Rahmad Pribadi stated that the achievement follows a comprehensive business transformation and improved corporate governance, in line with the agenda of superholding Danantara Indonesia. This performance is the result of disciplined operational excellence and cost leadership, implemented under the supervision of the superholding. Rahmad explained that consistent operational efficiency and cost discipline, aligned with the government agenda of President Prabowo Subianto, have enabled the company to grow sustainably, with or without the momentum of commodity price cycles. “Thanks to government support through Danantara, the comprehensive business transformation has begun to yield proud financial results. With a stronger financial foundation, we are optimistic that this growth is sustainable, not only for the company’s performance but also for a greater contribution to national food security,” Rahmad said in a written statement on Tuesday. The state-owned company also recorded revenue growth of 51 percent to Rp59.67 trillion, with EBITDA rising 140 percent to Rp14.28 trillion. The revenue increase was driven by production volume growth and operational cost efficiency, in line with the company’s transformation and business strategy. The transformation has also strengthened the company’s business resilience through strategies that ensure adaptive and sustainable performance amid global economic dynamics. The company is diversifying its revenue sources by strengthening the contribution of non-subsidised and non-fertiliser segments, as well as expanding supply sources and raw material contract schemes to mitigate the impact of global commodity price volatility on its cost structure.
