Pupuk Indonesia ensures subsidised fertiliser stock in West Java is secure ahead of planting season
Bandung (ANTARA) – PT Pupuk Indonesia (Persero) has assured farmers in West Java of the continued availability of subsidised fertilisers as planting season approaches, with stock levels and distribution remaining smooth through to the distribution points. General Manager (GM) Regional 2, Pupuk Indonesia, Muhammad Ihwan, in Bandung on Tuesday, said fertiliser distribution is currently running smoothly, and farmers are no longer having difficulty obtaining fertilisers. ‘We assure West Java, particularly Bandung, that farmers will no longer struggle to obtain fertilisers. The fertilisers will be made easier to reach farmers,’ he said. According to Ihwan, the smooth distribution is supported by fertiliser stock available in distribution warehouses, including the Nagreg Warehouse in Bandung Regency. ‘It is now full of fertilisers, which means we can guarantee that this stock can be used by farmers for one to three weeks ahead,’ he added. In addition to stock, Pupuk Indonesia also confirmed that the government’s assignment for subsidised fertiliser distribution in West Java amounting to 1,070,997 tonnes for 2026 is proceeding smoothly. Based on data up to 15 May 2026, actual distribution has reached 397,936 tonnes, or more than 39 percent of the allocation, comprising fertilisers such as urea, NPK (Nitrogen, Phosphorus, Potassium), organic fertilisers, and ZA (ammonium sulphate). Meanwhile, subsidised fertiliser stock in West Java as of 18 May 2026 stood at 30,668 tonnes, with 2,993 tonnes stock recorded in the Bandung region. On the occasion, he also stated that the company has optimised distribution through various facilities in West Java, including 51 buffer warehouses, 149 distribution centres, and 3,248 PPTS (Pupuk Tingkat Distributor) delivering fertilisers to farmers. He hopes that the availability and smooth distribution of fertilisers can continue to be maintained to support the planting season and boost agricultural productivity in West Java.
