Puncak Route Crowded During Long Weekend, One-Way System Implemented This Morning
Traffic police have implemented a one-way system on Jalan Raya Puncak in Bogor Regency, West Java, this Saturday morning (30 May) due to heavy congestion during the long weekend holiday. The traffic management measure applies to vehicles travelling from Jakarta towards Puncak.
Inspector Ardian Novianto of the Bogor Police District stated, ‘We have implemented the one-way system for the upward direction from Jakarta to Puncak,’ as reported by Detikcom on Saturday (30 May).
The one-way system was implemented from 5:00 AM WIB. Ardian noted a significant increase in vehicle volume, with approximately 1,200 vehicles exiting Ciawi Toll, rising to around 1,600 between 6:00-7:00 AM, and exceeding 2,000 between 7:00-8:00 AM. Without the one-way system, traffic queues would have been unavoidable once vehicle numbers reached 2,000 at the Ciawi Toll exit. The traffic management is situational and will be lifted once traffic volumes return to normal.
