Pulogadung terminus
Pulogadung terminus
From Media Indonesia
Traffic congestion at the Pulogadung bus terminus in East
Jakarta is becoming worse by the day. Traffic regulations are
apparently enforced but road capacity is not proportionate with
traffic volumes. In order to reduce the congestion I propose the
following steps:
1. The Pulogadung terminus should follow the regulations applied
at the Block M terminus in Kebayoran Baru. Incoming buses only
stop to unload and load passengers, then leave the terminus. No
bus shall stand by for more passengers.
2. The main streets within the nearby Pulogadung Industrial
Estate should be made available to public transport as an
alternative, to ease the congestion at the terminus.
3. The widening of the road between Jl. Perintis Kemerdekaan and
the Bekasi Regional Administration Office to eight lanes should
be ready within the next two or three years. Now the public works
are only tackling small stretches of the road.
