Pulau Panggang Jetty Repairs Targeted for Completion by December 2026

The Thousand Islands Transportation Sub-agency (Sudinhub) is continuing repair and maintenance work on the Pulau Panggang Pier in North Thousand Islands District, with completion targeted for December 2026.

“The maintenance work has a 180-calendar-day implementation period and is targeted for completion by December 2026. The project budget is approximately Rp3 billion,” said Ahyus Wanto, Head of the Port Development Section at the Thousand Islands Transportation Sub-agency, in Jakarta on Friday.

He explained that this is the second phase of work, continuing the pier maintenance carried out in 2025.

The scope of maintenance work in this follow-up phase covers 180 square metres, an increase from the previous phase of around 35 square metres.

“So the total pier area being repaired is around 215 square metres,” he said.

“It is one package of pier maintenance work, but at a different location,” he stressed.

Ahyus further said that pier maintenance is an important part of maintaining the condition of sea transport infrastructure in the Thousand Islands. A well-maintained pier supports resident mobility, economic activity, and inter-island tourist movement.

Similarly, Pulau Panggang Village Head Jamaluddin said that repairing and maintaining pier facilities is important to support community activities that rely on sea transport.

“We certainly welcome this pier maintenance,” he said.

Jamaluddin expressed hope that the work can be carried out properly so that the pier remains safe, comfortable, and usable by the community in the long term.

“We hope the implementation runs smoothly and that the maintenance results provide benefits for the community and support the smooth running of sea transport activities on Pulau Panggang,” he said.
