Pulau Panggang and Pramuka Embellished with Red and White Ornaments to Welcome 81st Independence Day
The Pulau Panggang sub-district government in the Seribu Islands has decorated the area with red and white ornaments as part of preparations to welcome the 81st Anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia. Pulau Panggang Sub-district Head Jamaluddin said in Jakarta on Monday that the construction of the gateways was carried out at three points, two on Pulau Panggang and one on Pulau Pramuka, with work commencing on 6 August 2026. He noted that the decoration of the gateways was located at RT 007/03 Pulau Panggang and RT 05 Pulau Pramuka. The activity involved around 15 personnel from various elements. “The personnel involved are around 15 people, consisting of local RT/RW, PPSU, Bhabinkamtibmas, the Water Resources Sub-agency, and Satpol PP,” he said. According to him, the installation of independence ornaments on the gateways is part of a joint effort by residents and related elements to create a lively atmosphere while fostering a spirit of nationalism in welcoming the Independence Day commemoration. He hopes that the festive atmosphere of the Republic of Indonesia’s Anniversary can be felt by the community throughout the Pulau Panggang Sub-district and encourage residents’ participation in various independence commemoration activities. “We hope residents can feel the independence celebration through these gateways,” he said. Previously, the Seribu Islands Regency Government held a People’s Party on Pramuka Island to welcome the 81st Anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia, which will be held on 18 August 2026. Seribu Islands Regent Muhammad Fadjar Churniawan said in Jakarta on Monday that the People’s Party event would present interesting activities aimed at getting closer to the community, including social services, free health checks, competitions, a bazaar, entertainment, and more.
