PT PP (Persero) Tbk (PTPP) is undertaking the construction of the Pulau Laut Bridge worth Rp1.02 trillion in Tanah Bumbu Regency, South Kalimantan. The project is expected to strengthen connectivity between regions in South Kalimantan. PTPP’s Corporate Secretary, Joko Raharjo, stated that the project is being executed through a joint operation scheme with PTPP as the lead contractor. “PTPP as the lead contractor with a 50 percent share, as part of the multi-year development programme for 2026–2028 aimed at improving connectivity between regions in South Kalimantan,” Joko said in a written statement in Jakarta on Friday (10/4/2026). Joko explained that the project has a construction period of 1,005 calendar days and a maintenance period of 730 calendar days. According to him, the project strengthens the company’s portfolio in the infrastructure sector, particularly regional connectivity. The bridge construction, located in Batulicin Subdistrict, is expected to improve access between Kalimantan Island and Pulau Laut Island. The infrastructure is also seen as capable of smoothing logistics distribution and community mobility in Tanah Bumbu and Kotabaru. “Overall, the construction of the Pulau Laut Bridge is a strategic project with funding support from various parties,” Joko said. PTPP targets the project to proceed as planned in terms of quality, time, and work safety. Joko views the project as aligned with efforts to even out development and enhance regional connectivity. “This shows how PTPP’s involvement in infrastructure projects contributes to realising the national development vision that is inclusive and sustainable,” Joko stated.
