Public Works Minister targets completion of national road repairs in Parung within 1-2 months
Parung, Bogor, West Java — Public Works Minister Dody Hanggodo has announced that repairs to the national road in Parung, West Java are targeted for completion within 1-2 months.
“We are currently undertaking repairs, from Pasar Parung through to Kemang, Parung. Previous work involved patching here and there but was not comprehensive. We are gradually perfecting the work. Hopefully within one to two months this will be completed,” said Dody in Parung, Bogor, West Java on Saturday.
According to him, one of the key challenges in the national road repairs is the weather. “The problem is the weather. When it rains, we must stop to ensure the road quality we repair is adequate and can last long,” he said.
“I request the Balai Chief to ensure the work is not merely patching, but is carried out comprehensively from this point through to Pasar Parung so the road is smoother,” he said.
The Public Works Ministry is endeavouring to accelerate national road repairs in the area. “We are making repairs and attempting to do so as quickly as possible because such repairs certainly disrupt public movement,” said Dody.
The commitment to strengthening national road preservation efforts aims to maintain the integrity of national road conditions. Dody revealed that the Public Works Ministry’s budget allocation for 2026 will be focused on agricultural irrigation and regional connectivity.
The Public Works Ministry’s 2026 budget ceiling of Rp118.50 trillion is being prioritised on strengthening agricultural irrigation networks and regional connectivity as the foundation for food security and national economic growth.
