Public Works Minister Saddened by Employee Forging Signatures: Never Expected
One fact is true: there is a document that was forged; the document itself wasn’t forged, but my signature was forged. The document number differed from the original, said Dody Hanggodo at a media briefing at the Ministry of Public Works, Kebayoran Baru, South Jakarta, on Friday, 22 May 2026.
Dody also did not rule out the possibility that the employee forged the signatures of other officials at the Ministry of Public Works. He said the employee had even dared forge his signature as minister.
“Well, if someone dares to forge the signature of the Minister of Public Works, how about the other signatures, the Director General, the Secretary-General, and so on,” he added.
Dody admitted that he was saddened and shocked to learn of the signature forgery. He said the act had never crossed his mind that it would be carried out by someone within his own ministry.
“Yes, it is a sad fact, that someone would go so far as to forge within a ministry that must manage hundreds of trillions of rupiah each year; I am, in fact, shocked, slapped, stained and very sad. How can it be? I cannot imagine it at all in my head,” he said.
Furthermore, Dody said the employee who forged his signature had been processed by the ministry’s Legal Bureau. He did not want the matter to drag on.
“That’s it, that’s it, processed by the Legal Bureau; there is a reporting process and so on. I do not want this matter to drag on; I have other tasks, so let the Director General and the Legal Bureau handle it, even though the signature forged was mine,” he said. (mib/amw)
