We hope that the new SPAM (Drinking Water Supply System) will be completed in two to three months, and the pipes have already arrived; all that remains is the installation, and hopefully, it can be supplied to this Huntara.
Banda Aceh (ANTARA) – The Minister of Public Works, Dody Hanggodo, affirmed that his ministry is continuously striving to find a quick solution to the community’s complaints regarding the availability of clean water in the temporary housing (Huntara) in Aceh Tamiang.
“Regarding clean water, we are currently repairing the SPAM in Karang Baru,” said Dody Hanggodo in Aceh Tamiang, Aceh, on Wednesday.
The statement was made by Dody Hanggodo after listening to the complaints of residents living in Huntara 2 of the Ministry of Public Works, in Bundar Village, Karang Baru District, Aceh Tamiang Regency, during a joint sahur (pre-dawn meal) event and congregational Subuh (dawn) prayer with local residents.
He said that, regarding clean water in the area, in addition to repairing the SPAM, they are also building a new network with a capacity of two times 50 litres per second, and it is hoped that it will be completed quickly.
“We hope that the new SPAM will be completed in two to three months, and the pipes have already arrived; all that remains is the installation, and hopefully, it can be supplied to this Huntara and other places around Karang Baru, including the hospital,” Dody Hanggodo emphasised.
Previously, during the joint sahur event with the Minister of Public Works, a resident representative named Indra Saputra, in his testimony, complained about the issue of clean water that the Huntara residents have not yet received, as well as other issues.
“We have been living in this Huntara for about a week, and we would like to express our complaints about the clean water supply, and also about the cleanliness; the garbage is not being collected regularly (garbage truck),” he said.
The community is really hoping for an acceleration in the availability of clean water, given that this is very important for them, both for cooking, worship, and other daily needs.
“Please pay attention to us, sir; we really need clean water so that we can use it for our daily needs,” he said.
On this occasion, he also expressed his gratitude to President Prabowo Subianto for providing Huntara for them and other residents affected by the flood.
“Thank you to President Prabowo and the Minister of Public Works, we, on behalf of the residents of Huntara 2, would like to express our sincere gratitude,” said Indra Saputra.
