Public Works Minister accelerates second MLFF trial before semi-commercial stage
Semarang (ANTARA) - The Minister of Public Works (PU), Dody Hanggable, is accelerating the second trial of the Multi Lane Free Flow (MLFF) contactless, non-stop toll transaction system before proceeding to the semi-commercial stage, provided the testing is successful.
He stated that the second trial is necessary because previous testing had not yet yielded a definitive conclusion regarding the success of the MLFF system.
“The MLFF is being accelerated for a second trial. The first trial was not conclusive; it was neither a failure nor a success,” Dody said in Semarang, Central Java, on Sunday.
According to him, the success of the second trial will serve as the basis for advancing the system to what he referred to as the semi-commercial stage.
“If the second trial is successful, we will enter the semi-commercial phase,” he said.
“In the semi-commercial phase, we will conduct thorough testing. We will eventually install it at several points,” the Minister of Public Works revealed.
Dody noted that the testing is also intended to ensure that the technology used is truly aligned with the MLFF concept, where toll transactions can occur without vehicles needing to stop at the gates.
He added that the Ministry of Public Works continues to carry out the process in accordance with the agreed contracts and is striving to accelerate every stage.
“I am simply following the contract. I am following the contract, nothing more, nothing less. My task is to accelerate so that the process moves more quickly,” said Dody.
