The public now has the opportunity to directly determine the official logo for the 81st Anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia. For the first time, the government has opened a space for public participation in selecting the visual identity for the independence celebration through a national polling mechanism.

Voting is conducted online via the official website logohutri.istanapresiden.go.id from 24 to 28 June 2026. Through this channel, the public can choose one of five top logo designs that have passed a professional curation and selection process.

Minister of Creative Economy Teuku Riefky Harsya stated that the five designs put to a public vote were filtered from a national competition entered by 124 participants from various regions in Indonesia. From hundreds of submissions, a curatorial team selected five finalist designers to proceed to the public voting stage.

“This year marks a new milestone in determining the HUT RI logo. For the first time, under the direction of the President, the public is actively involved in choosing the logo through a public polling mechanism from 24-28 June 2026,” Teuku said during a press conference at the Presidential Office on Wednesday (24/6).

According to Teuku, the HUT RI logo is not merely a graphic element used in various independence commemoration activities. The logo is a national symbol present in the public sphere and represents the shared identity of all Indonesian people.

Therefore, the government considers public involvement crucial in determining the design that will be used nationally. Public participation is seen as a way to strengthen the sense of ownership over the national symbol, while ensuring the chosen logo truly represents the people’s aspirations.

“This public involvement is important as a space for national participation that will build a sense of ownership, so that the selected logo truly becomes a symbol of pride for all Indonesian people,” Teuku said.

During the selection process, the Ministry of Creative Economy collaborated with the Indonesian Graphic Designers Association (ADGI) to ensure the submitted designs met professional standards. The assessment considered not only visual aspects but also the strength of the narrative and its relevance to the national spirit intended to be conveyed.

Through this mechanism, the public is not just a user of the HUT RI logo but also participates in determining the symbol that will colour the 81st Indonesian independence commemoration. The government encourages the public to exercise their voting rights during the polling period to choose the logo deemed most representative of Indonesia’s future spirit.
