Public Trust in National Police Reaches 84.2 Percent, OJK Says It Proves Reform

The Financial Services Authority (OJK) has expressed high appreciation to the National Police (Polri) for its outstanding performance, particularly in safeguarding the financial sector. This achievement proves Polri’s reform in improving professionalism. This was conveyed by the Chairperson of the Board of Commissioners of the Financial Services Authority, Friderica Widyasari Dewi. Friderica stated that this outstanding performance is reflected in the results of a Kompas Research and Development survey which shows increasing public trust in Polri. “This achievement is proof that reform efforts and the improvement of professionalism and service quality to the community are increasingly felt by the Indonesian people,” said Friderica Widyasari Dewi, in her statement, Saturday (27/6/2026). Friderica also expressed appreciation for the synergy and collaboration that has been well established with Polri, especially in maintaining the integrity of the financial services sector. Not only that, Polri was also said to have supported the investigation process of various criminal acts in the financial services sector, strengthened consumer and public protection, and of course eradicated illegal financial activities. “Hopefully Polri will become more professional, modern, and trusted, and continue to be a protector, guardian, and public servant for a safe, orderly, advanced, and prosperous Indonesia. Greetings Presisi,” she concluded. The Kompas Research and Development survey was conducted from 9 to 18 April 2026. The method used was face-to-face interviews with 1,200 respondents. Sampling was carried out randomly using a multistage systematic sampling method in 38 provinces. The margin of error is 2.83 percent with a 95 percent confidence level. Respondents were asked the question: In general, are you confident or not confident that Polri’s performance will improve in the future? The respondents answered: 82.4% of respondents answered confident, 12.1% of respondents answered not confident, and 5.5% of respondents answered do not know. The results of the Kompas Research and Development survey show that public trust in Polri has risen significantly to 82.4 percent. Previously, in 2025, the public trust figure for Polri was at 76.2 percent. The Kompas Research and Development survey stated that the public is confident the Polri institution can improve in the future.
