Public telephone
Public telephone
From Bisnis Indonesia
With reference to a letter from Mr. Pranajaya in East Jakarta
published in Bisnis Indonesia on Nov. 3, 1995, we would like to
clarify as follows:
1. We have often repaired the public telephones in the UKI
hospital by replacing the whole set. The damage to the coin-
operated telephone occurred because user stuff other objects or
defective coins into the slot. This results blockage. To get the
coin back the user often whacks the telephone box, causing even
more damage. Many users try to operate card telephones by using
an expired card.
2. According to our field staff, four of the six telephone
units were damaged or out of order, and the other two were
functioning well. The damaged units were repaired or replaced and
they now function well.
We appeal to the public to correctly operate the telephones
and report any damage to Telkom by dialing 117.
