Public service and law enforcement

From Suara Karya

In declaring 2004 the year of public service, State Minister for Administrative Reforms Feisal Tamin emphasized the need to treat the public not merely as recipients of service but as loyal customers.

The question raised by critical citizens is: Which customers? Good citizens are certainly different from those who are fond of bribing and violating applicable laws.

Therefore, law enforcement should be prioritized to serve good citizens. In this way, the public will seriously understand and carry out its civil duties and not just demand proper service.

By providing the best service through strict and thorough law enforcement, the government will be held in high regard, which at the same time will have a positive impact on investor confidence.

As a result, the economy will improve and the social costs of unemployment and labor dismissals can be reduced. The government declaration of 2004 as the year of public service is already positive gesture.
