Public Satisfaction with Prabowo Drops to 51 Per Cent, Palace Responds: We Work, We Do Not Seek Surveys

The Minister of State Secretary, Prasetyo Hadi, has asserted that the government under President Prabowo Subianto does not treat survey results as a primary objective in conducting state affairs. This statement was made in response to an SMRC survey indicating that public satisfaction with President Prabowo Subianto’s administration has decreased to 51 per cent.

“Firstly, we have always stated from the beginning that we work, not in the pursuit of surveys,” Prasetyo stated when approached regarding the findings while travelling through Tegal, Central Java, on Thursday, 30 July 2026.

Prasetyo maintained that the government believes all current policies and programmes are directed towards serving the interests of the wider public. He explained that the various priority programmes led by President Prabowo and executed by ministries and government agencies are designed to provide benefits to the people, rather than to chase increases in satisfaction levels within surveys.

“We never look at or work to chase a survey. However, through our work, we are confident that the people will accept everything we implement as part of our campaign promises and our shared aspirations as a nation and state that wishes to be advanced, prosperous, and self-sufficient in various sectors, including food security, energy, industrialisation, and downstreaming,” he added.
