Public Registration Opens Today for 81st Independence Day Ceremony at the Palace
Members of the public can now register to attend the ceremony marking the 81st Anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Indonesia at Merdeka Palace, with registration officially opening today, Wednesday, 5 August 2026.
Those wishing to experience the Independence Day commemoration at the Presidential Palace complex in Jakarta can register online through the Pandang Istana portal (https://pandang.istanapresiden.go.id), which is now accessible.
According to a press release from Bakom RI on Wednesday, 5 August 2026, the registration process will run for three days, from 5 to 7 August 2026, opening each day from 10.00 WIB.
The organising committee has provided a limited quota for each day, and registration will close once the quota is filled.
The opportunity forms part of the government’s efforts to grant the public wider access to solemnly take part in the ceremony, as well as to witness arts and cultural performances in person at Merdeka Palace.
As in previous years, public enthusiasm is expected to be high, meaning the available invitation quota is likely to fill quickly.
To ensure the registration process runs smoothly, members of the public are asked to prepare a number of documents and details before registering:
Identity card (KTP/KIA)
An active email address
An active telephone number
A recent formal selfie while holding identity documents (KTP/KIA).
Given the limited number of invitations and the high public interest each Independence Day commemoration, prospective participants are advised to prepare all requirements in advance so they can complete the registration process promptly.
