Public Increasingly Prefers Train Travel, Daop 3 Cirebon Serves 2.1 Million Passengers
PT KAI Daop 3 Cirebon recorded serving 2,138,947 customers during the first semester of 2026. This figure represents a 5.43 per cent increase compared to the same period in 2025, which saw 2,028,698 customers.
The Public Relations Manager of Daop 3 Cirebon, Muhibbuddin, stated that the high number of customers serves as an indicator that trains are increasingly trusted by the public as a safe, comfortable, and punctual mode of transport. Furthermore, rail services are successfully meeting the mobility needs of various travel segments.
“Of the total customers, 1,076,822 were departing passengers and 1,062,125 were arriving passengers across various stations within the Daop 3 Cirebon region,” Muhibbuddin said in Cirebon, West Java, on Saturday (4/7/2026).
Muhibbuddin noted that, in addition to being driven by routine activities such as commuting for work, education, and business, the increase in passengers was also influenced by high public mobility during national holidays. This includes the Eid al-Fitr period, Christmas and New Year, as well as school holidays occurring at the end of the first semester.
