Public Holiday, Prabowo Holds Meeting with Danantara Boss at Palace

JAKARTA - President of the Republic of Indonesia Prabowo Subianto still held a meeting at the State Palace in Jakarta, even though it was a public holiday on Friday (1/5/2026) today. Prabowo is known to have summoned Sigit Puji Santosa, the CTO of Danantara. Sigit stated that Prabowo was conducting a brainstorming session with several experts regarding a number of solutions. He denied that they were discussing defence equipment, considering that Sigit also holds the position of Director of Pindad. “Our programmes, R&D (research and development) programmes, educational programmes, and so on,” he added while leaving. It is known that this morning, Prabowo joined the Labour Day celebrations held at Monas in Jakarta. During those May Day celebrations, Prabowo gave several gifts to workers, ranging from the Presidential Regulation on Ride-Hailing, Ratification of International Labour Organization Convention No. 188, to the resolution of the Manpower Law that favours workers.
