Public Holiday: Jakarta Suspends Odd-Even Traffic Rule on 1 June
Through the Tri-Ministerial Decree on National Holidays and Collective Leave for 2026, the government has designated 1 June 2026 as a national holiday for Pancasila Day. There will be no odd-even traffic rule in Jakarta on that date.
“The implementation of the odd-even traffic system on various Jakarta roads is suspended in conjunction with Pancasila Day,” stated the Jakarta Regional Transportation Agency (Dishub DKI Jakarta) on its Instagram account @dishubdkijakarta.
The suspension is based on:
Joint Decree (SKB) by the Minister of Religion (No. 1497 of 2025), Minister of Manpower (No. 2 of 2025), and Minister of State Apparatus Utilisation and Bureaucratic Reform (No. 5 of 2025) concerning National Holidays and Collective Leave for 2026.
Jakarta Provincial Regulation No. 88 of 2019, Article 3(3): Traffic restrictions via the odd-even system are not enforced on Saturdays, Sundays, and national holidays designated by Presidential Decree.
How many days is the Pancasila Day holiday in 2026?
The commemoration of Pancasila Day 2026 is a single day, on Monday, 1 June 2026. There is no collective leave for Pancasila Day.
Official Theme for Pancasila Day 2026
The official theme for the 2026 Pancasila Day commemoration is “Pancasila: Unifier of the Nation, Foundation of World Peace”. This theme reflects the constitutional mandate (Fourth Preamble of the 1945 Constitution) and the grand vision “To Build the World Anew”.
Beyond being the state foundation, Pancasila embodies values of unity, humanity, and peace. Through Indonesia’s global role—from peace missions to international diplomacy—we demonstrate that peace is not merely rhetoric but tangible action.
World peace begins with small steps: respecting differences, maintaining unity, and showing care for those around us.
