PT Public Gold Indonesia (PGI), the producer and distributor of the Public Gold brand, aims to accelerate its business growth with plans to produce gold jewellery in the short to medium term. This new venture will complement PGI’s primary business of producing and selling gold bars. This was announced by the Founder and Executive Chairman of Public Gold Group, as well as President of the Malaysia Gold Association, Dato’ Seri Louis Ng, in Jakarta on Saturday (6/6/2026).

“We have production facilities in Indonesia and produce gold in various weights. We plan to produce gold jewellery,” said Louis. The Public Gold Group, the parent company of PGI, is headquartered in Malaysia and has been operating since 2008, while PGI has been operating in Indonesia since 2016.

Over its decade of operation in Indonesia, PGI has opened branch offices in several cities, including Jakarta, Surabaya, Banjarbaru (South Kalimantan), Yogyakarta, and Makassar. “Public Gold Indonesia possesses production facilities and eight branch offices,” added Dato’ Seri Louis.

Since its inception a decade ago, PGI has provided precious metals to both individuals and corporations. PGI actively educates the public to understand gold not merely as jewellery, but as a long-term asset. The company provides easy, safe, and affordable access to high-quality physical gold, intensifying educational efforts ranging from university students to various institutions regarding the importance of gold as a long-term investment strategy and a safe-haven asset.

As a result, PGI has recorded 50,000 consumers and thousands of Public Gold Business Owners (PGBO) who play an active role in disseminating gold education through various activities at branch offices and other locations.

“Public Gold Indonesia targets reaching 10 million customers by 2030 as part of the company’s long-term vision to build a broader and more sustainable gold education ecosystem,” said the Head of Operations of Public Gold Indonesia, Febrina Amalia.

This target, Febrina continued, is driven by a shift in perception among Gen Z and Millennials, where gold is no longer viewed as merely classic jewellery but as a ‘safe’ investment amidst global uncertainty. Interest in gold investment also comes significantly from the younger generation, who view it as a protective asset. The growing public trust in gold is accompanied by the attainment of the Indonesian National Standard (SNI) certification, recognising the quality and standards of PGI products.

The presentation of the certification was witnessed by the Mayor of South Jakarta and representatives from the Financial Services Authority (OJK) during the celebration of Public Gold Indonesia’s first decade at the Award Recognition Night 2026, attended by 400 participants from Indonesia and Malaysia.

Through this decadal celebration, PGI reaffirmed its commitment to expanding gold literacy within society. PGI is rolling out this education as a long-term mission to help the public understand the importance of physical gold ownership as a form of wealth protection that can be passed down through generations.
