Public Funds in Banks Reach Rp10,294 Trillion
Public funds held in banks continue to increase. The Financial Services Authority (OJK) recorded that third-party funds (DPK) in the banking sector reached Rp10,294 trillion in May 2026, growing 13.49 percent year-on-year (yoy).
OJK’s Chief Executive of Banking Supervision, Dian Ediana Rae, stated that DPK growth was higher than the 11.39 percent recorded in April 2026. The increase was supported by growth in current accounts, deposits, and savings.
“On the other hand, third-party funds also grew by 13.49 percent year-on-year to Rp10,294 trillion,” Dian said during an OJK Board of Commissioners Meeting press conference on Tuesday (7/7/2026).
He explained that current accounts recorded the highest growth at 20.53 percent year-on-year. Meanwhile, deposits grew by 10.17 percent and savings increased by 10.21 percent compared to the same period last year.
Dian added that banking industry liquidity as of May 2026 remained at an adequate level. The ratio of liquid assets to non-core deposits (AL/NCD) was recorded at 108.20 percent, while the ratio of liquid assets to third-party funds (AL/DPK) reached 24.74 percent. Both indicators remain well above the thresholds set by the regulator.
Furthermore, the banking industry’s liquidity coverage ratio (LCR) stood at 186.54 percent. According to Dian, this condition indicates that banks’ ability to meet short-term liquidity needs is maintained amid increasing credit disbursement.
