Public Flock to Unified Zone Offering Recreation, Dining and Shopping During Eid Holiday
As the Islamic holiday of Eid al-Fitr 1447 H approaches, the public is beginning to seek out integrated tourist destinations to spend time with family. The CitraRaya Tangerang township has now become a primary tourism draw in the western Jakarta region, offering a combination of recreation, dining and shopping within a single self-contained 2,760-hectare complex.
Visitor numbers are beginning to increase at several strategic locations, particularly at entertainment facilities and shopping centres developed by Ciputra Group.
“Indeed, from the outset CitraRaya Tangerang was designed as a self-contained city suitable for families, so residents do not need to go outside the complex to find food tenants or entertainment,” said Raymond Christantyo, Head of Department of Marketing Communication at CitraRaya Tangerang, on Monday (9/3/2026).
For families seeking outdoor activities, the World of Wonders theme park remains a favourite destination. The park offers a variety of child-friendly rides combined with miniatures of world wonders as an educational facility.
Additionally, Water World CitraRaya has become a top choice for visitors wishing to enjoy water-based recreation. With various slides and swimming pools for all ages, the venue is predicted to reach peak visitation during the upcoming Eid holiday.
The retail and dining sectors have also experienced significant strengthening. Mal Ciputra Tangerang now features AEON as a major anchor tenant, providing household products as well as Korean and Japanese cuisine.
To enhance the visitor experience, a number of popular brands are set to join shortly, including Chagee, Malaya Toast, Payless and UBS Gold. Meanwhile, existing tenants such as Chatime and Spotec are preparing reopenings with more modern concepts.
“Particularly as the Eid holiday approaches, visitor numbers are increasing rapidly. Mal Ciputra Tangerang has become one of the busiest locations visited by families,” Raymond added.
Not far from the shopping centre is the premium Ecopolis district, which is the result of a collaboration between Ciputra Group and Japan’s Mitsui Fudosan. In this district, visitors can enjoy facilities at Ecoplaza, ranging from watching films at CGV Cinemas to shopping for essentials at Farmers Market.
The availability of comprehensive facilities has transformed CitraRaya Tangerang from merely a residential complex into an economic activity and tourism hub that makes it easier for residents around Tangerang to enjoy their holidays without needing to travel far to Jakarta city centre.
