Puan: Today's Plenary Session is Special, Attended Directly by the President

The Speaker of the House of Representatives (DPR RI), Puan Maharani, stated that today’s plenary session felt particularly special due to the direct presence of President Prabowo Subianto. “Today’s plenary session is very special because it is attended directly by the President of the Republic of Indonesia, who will personally present the Macroeconomic Framework and Fiscal Policy Guidelines (KEM-PPKF) for the 2027 Fiscal Year before this honourable assembly,” said Puan on Wednesday. Puan’s statement was met with enthusiastic applause from members of parliament and invited guests.

According to Puan, the KEM-PPKF for the 2027 Fiscal Year plays a strategic role in the nation’s development direction. The document is not merely a technical draft regarding a healthy budget posture, but also a vital instrument for maintaining national stability amidst global uncertainty. “The KEM-PPKF for the 2027 Fiscal Year serves as the initial draft and foundation for formulating the 2027 State Budget (APBN), outlining macroeconomic policies as well as state revenue and expenditure policies,” Puan added.

Puan expressed hope that the formulated fiscal policies would foster inclusive and high-quality economic growth. She emphasised that future economic growth should not focus solely on Gross Domestic Product (GDP) figures but must have a direct impact on the welfare of the wider population. Consequently, Puan viewed the Head of State’s presence at this plenary session as a crucial momentum awaited by all layers of Indonesian society. “The President’s presence to deliver the 2027 KEM-PPKF is certainly an important and strategic momentum, affirming that the framework of the 2027 State Budget is directed towards providing real benefits for all Indonesian people,” said Puan.
