Puan States Prabowo's Speech on KEM-PPKF is Highly Anticipated by the Indonesian People
JAKARTA — The Speaker of the House of Representatives (DPR RI), Puan Maharani, stated that President Prabowo Subianto’s presence at the parliamentary plenary session to deliver the Macroeconomic Framework (KEM) and the Fiscal Policy Principles (PPKF) for the 2027 Draft State Budget (RAPBN) is highly anticipated by the Indonesian people.
According to Puan, the delivery of the 2027 KEM-PPKF by the Head of State represents a strategic momentum to reaffirm the direction of the 2027 State Budget policies, ensuring they provide tangible benefits to the public.
“Therefore, the President’s presence today is not only awaited by those present in this room, but certainly by all the people of Indonesia, to see how the design of the 2027 State Budget will be structured,” said Puan while opening the parliamentary plenary session attended by Prabowo at the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, on Wednesday (20/05/2026).
Puan explained that the 2027 KEM-PPKF is the initial draft that serves as the foundation for the preparation of the 2027 State Budget, while also containing the government’s macroeconomic and fiscal policy directions.
This document, Puan noted, plays a strategic role as it relates not only to the design of a healthy and sustainable State Budget posture but also to anticipating various economic risks, both from domestic and international sources.
“The macro assumptions and fiscal direction within the KEM-PPKF will also signal to investors, the business community, regional governments, and market players regarding the national economic landscape in 2027,” Puan added.
She further noted that the contents of the 2027 KEM-PPKF are a source of hope for the public, ensuring that the benefits of national development can be increasingly felt by the people.
It was previously reported that Prabowo attended the parliamentary plenary session on Wednesday to personally deliver the KEM and PPKF for the 2027 Draft State Budget. Prabowo becomes the first president to directly present the government’s annual macroeconomic and fiscal policy directions before the House of Representatives.
The plenary session also discussed the evaluation of the second amendment to the National Legislation Programme (Prolegnas) regarding the 2026 Priority Bills, as well as listening to the views of various factions regarding the Police Bill proposed by Commission III of the DPR.
