Puan Reports DPR's Legislative Achievements to Prabowo: 28 Laws Passed Since 2024
House Speaker Puan Maharani delivered a speech at the opening of the First Session of the 2026-2027 Session Year at the Nusantara Building, Parliament Complex, Senayan, Central Jakarta, on Friday (14/8/2028). Opening her address, Puan reported on the legislative achievements of the DPR together with the government since 2024.
"The opening of this session marks the beginning of the third year of the DPR’s 2024-2029 term. Entering the third year, the people’s expectations will be even greater to enjoy the results of development and various policies that are increasingly tangible in their daily lives," she stated.
The politician from the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle added that this session is a crucial opportunity for the DPR to continue strengthening its performance, absorbing the people’s aspirations, and delivering policies that provide real benefits to the public.
According to Puan, the DPR together with the government has passed 28 bills into law since the first session period in 2024. The breakdown is as follows: Commission I: 3 laws, Commission II: 10 laws, Commission III: 3 laws, Commission VI: 2 laws, Commission VII: 1 law, Commission VIII: 1 law, Commission XI: 2 laws, Commission XIII: 2 laws, the Legislation Body: 3 laws, and a Special Committee: 1 law.
Furthermore, Puan explained that during this session period, the DPR and the government will focus on deliberating 14 bills at the first level of discussion. In addition, the DPR will continue the drafting of 43 other bills. "This includes the drafting of the Asset Forfeiture Bill. The Asset Forfeiture Bill is still in the stage of receiving meaningful public input," Puan said.
