President Prabowo Subianto has reportedly invited eight special guests to the annual joint session of the MPR, DPR, and DPD, scheduled to take place at the parliamentary complex in Senayan, Jakarta, on Friday, 14 August. House of Representatives (DPR) Speaker Puan Maharani stated that the eight special invitees are representatives of beneficiaries of the government’s strategic programmes. “And the special invitations include beneficiaries of the President’s programmes who have received and felt the benefits of these programmes,” Puan said after inspecting preparations at the Parliamentary Complex in Senayan, Jakarta, on Wednesday, 12 August. According to Puan, a total of 1,200 participants will attend the annual session. In addition to 732 members of the DPR and the Regional Representatives Council (DPD), the remaining attendees include former presidents and vice presidents, cabinet members, and VIP guests comprising ambassadors from friendly nations. “And the other VIP invitations, as usual, include ambassadors, ministers, coordinating ministers, and heads of institutions,” she said. Puan added that preparations for the session are currently 80 per cent complete and are confirmed to be ready by the day before. The session will commence at 8.30 a.m. Western Indonesian Time, featuring two event segments. The first segment will be filled with President Prabowo Subianto’s state address, and the second segment will involve the President’s speech regarding the 2027 State Budget Bill (RAPBN). “We will hold the session, God willing, on 14 August, Friday, starting at 8.30 a.m. WIB. It will then be followed by the session for the delivery of the RAPBN at 2.30 p.m. WIB,” she stated. Acting DPR Secretary-General Supriyantini said the eight special guests, who are beneficiaries of government programmes, will be seated on the balcony of the main session chamber. However, neither Puan nor Supriyantini disclosed the names or identities of the invited parties. “The government will present eight programme beneficiaries, who will be placed on the balcony alongside exemplary individuals and the best participants of the Youth Parliament,” she said yesterday.
