Puan Performs Eid al-Adha Prayer at DPR Mosque, Donates 1-Ton Limousin Cow

JAKARTA - House of Representatives Speaker Puan Maharani performed Eid al-Adha prayers alongside DPR staff and local residents at the Baiturrahman Mosque in the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, on Wednesday (27 May 2026).

At the DPR mosque, she donated a 1-ton Limousin cow to be distributed among DPR employees and surrounding communities.

Following the prayers, Puan inspected the DPR’s sacrificial animals, which are scheduled for slaughter on Thursday (28 May 2026).

She stated that Eid al-Adha, associated with sacrificial rites and pilgrimage, is an opportune moment to strengthen social values.

“Eid al-Adha, or the Festival of Sacrifice, teaches us about sincerity and selflessness,” Puan said in a statement.

Puan added that the occasion is a timely moment for reflection on the meaning of sharing.

She urged the public to internalise the significance of Eid al-Adha as a collective call for the nation to reinforce solidarity, togetherness, and social concern in facing various challenges.

“Let us embody these Eid values through mutual cooperation to address national issues,” she said.

She expressed hope that this year’s Eid al-Adha would raise awareness of the meaning of sacrifice as exemplified by Prophet Ibrahim.

“The sacrifices we celebrate today must make us more attuned to collective interests and more determined to champion social justice,” Puan added.

On behalf of herself, her family, and the DPR, Puan extended Eid al-Adha greetings for 1447 AH.

“May every sacrifice we undertake, whether visible or hidden, become a path to dignify our lives as individuals and as a nation,” she said.
