Puan Leads Plenary Session Before Prabowo, 463 DPR Members Attend

The House of Representatives (DPR) convened its first plenary session of the 2026-2027 sitting period today, with 463 out of 580 members in attendance. The session was held in conjunction with the presentation of the 2027 State Budget Bill (RAPBN) and Financial Note at the parliament complex in Senayan, Jakarta, on Friday (14/8/2026). President Prabowo Subianto and Vice President Gibran Rakabuming were present for the agenda. House Speaker Puan Maharani chaired the session and delivered her opening address. She declared the meeting open and accessible to the public. ‘Based on the records of the DPR Secretariat General, 463 members representing all DPR factions are in attendance, thus a quorum has been achieved,’ Puan stated. ‘By saying bismillahirrahmanirrahim, allow us, the leadership of the House, to open the first plenary session of the DPR for the 2026-2027 sitting period on this Friday, 14 August 2026, and we declare it open to the public,’ she added. During the session, President Prabowo also delivered a state address in conjunction with the submission of the bill on the 2027 state budget. The agenda for the plenary session on the draft state budget included: attendees arriving and taking their designated seats from 13:30 to 14:10; the singing of the national anthem, Indonesia Raya, from 14:30 to 14:35; the opening of the session by the DPR Speaker and a prayer from 14:35 to 14:42; the Speaker’s address to open the first sitting period of the 2026-2027 session year from 14:42 to 14:57; the President’s state address from 14:57 to 15:42; the submission of the 2027 State Budget Bill along with its Financial Note and supporting documents from the President to the DPR Speaker, followed by the DPR Speaker’s request for consideration from the Regional Representative Council (DPD) and the signing of the official report from 15:42 to 16:02; and the closing of the plenary session by the DPR Speaker from 16:02 to 16:07.
