Puan Leads DPR Plenary Session Approving 2027 State Budget Bill

The Speaker of the House of Representatives (DPR RI), Puan Maharani, presided over the Plenary Session for the approval of the Bill on the 2027 State Revenue and Expenditure Budget (RAPBN). Under this Bill, the State Revenue for 2027 has been agreed at Rp 3,435.10 trillion, while State Expenditure is set at Rp 4,106.26 trillion.

The ratification of the 2027 RAPBN Bill took place during the 7th Plenary Session of the first session of the 2026-2027 legislative period at the Nusantara II Building, Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta.

Prior to the decision-making process regarding the 2027 RAPBN, the Chairman of the DPR Budget Committee (Banggar), Said Abdullah, presented a report on the economic projections and targets for the upcoming period, as agreed upon with the Government. Said also presented the individual views of all DPR factions. According to Said, the Budget Committee and the Government have agreed on an economic growth target of 6%.

“The 6% target is required as a bridge to enlarge the economic pie. With a larger economic scale, we hope the majority of the people will benefit from production and consumption activities,” Said stated in a written statement on Tuesday (29/09/2026).

“The challenge is certainly not easy; the strategy that has been and will be continued by the Government is to increase the added value of exports and investment,” he continued.

Said also revealed that the Budget Committee and the Government have agreed to improve the investment climate, with a strategy to organise the ease of doing business more progressively and measurably. “Because it is impossible to rely on 6% economic growth solely through the strength of the State Budget (APBN); that is why it is important to involve the private sector in development,” Said explained.

Following the reading of the report, Puan requested approval from the members of the DPR during the Plenary Session regarding the 2027 RAPBN.

“The time has come for us to request the approval of the factions regarding the Bill on the State Revenue and Expenditure Budget for the 2027 fiscal year; can it be approved to be ratified into Law?” Puan asked.

The members of the DPR approved unanimously, followed by the striking of the gavel by Puan as a sign of ratification. With this approval, the DPR has sanctioned the 2027 RAPBN, with details showing State Revenue of Rp 3,435.10 trillion, consisting of Tax Revenue of Rp 2,911.95 trillion and Non-Tax State Revenue (PNBP) of Rp 522.48 trillion.

The DPR also approved State Expenditure for 2027 at Rp 4.106,26 trillion, comprising Central Government Expenditure (Ministries/Agencies and non-Ministries/Agencies) amounting to Rp 3,371.26 trillion, and Transfers to Regions amounting to Rp 735 trillion.
