Puan: I Represent the PDI-P Chair at the DPR Plenary Session

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - Speaker of the House of Representatives Puan Maharani greeted officials and party leaders as she opened the DPR plenary session on the Macroeconomic Framework (KEM) and the Fiscal Policy Package (PPKF) for the RAPBN 2027.

Puan began by greeting the party leaders, starting with Golkar Chairman Bahlil Lahadalia, Gerindra Chairman Prabowo Subianto, and NasDem Chairman Surya Paloh.

‘The chairmen of political parties, Golkar Chairman Bahlil Lahadalia, Gerindra Chairman Prabowo Subianto, NasDem Chairman Surya Paloh,’ Puan said at the DPR building in Senayan, Jakarta, on Wednesday (20 May 2026).

Puan then also greeted the heads of the KPK (Setyo Budiyanto), KPU (Afifuddin), Bawaslu (Rahmat Bagja), Bank Indonesia Governor Perry Warjiyo, and LPS (Anggito Abimanyu).

After finishing the greetings to other officials, Puan announced that she was representing the Chairperson of the PDI-P Megawati Soekarnoputri.

‘Not forgetting, I would also like to say here, of course representing the Chairperson of the PDI-P who is represented by me, Puan Maharani, the Speaker of the DPR,’ she added, to applause.

Prabowo’s presence today drew attention because the KEM-PPKF is usually delivered by the Finance Minister as the government’s representative. Prabowo thus becomes the first president to personally present the government’s macroeconomic and fiscal policy directions for the year before the DPR.
