Puan Highlights 16 Bills Passed into Law by DPR During 2025-2026 Period

The Speaker of the House of Representatives (DPR RI), Puan Maharani, has highlighted the legislative achievements made by the DPR in collaboration with the government throughout 2025-2026. She noted that 16 draft bills were officially passed into law during this period.

“Throughout the 2025-2026 session, the DPR RI has completed 16 draft bills, turning them into enacted laws,” Puan stated during a special plenary session held to commemorate the 81st anniversary of the DPR RI on Tuesday (1/9).

She further mentioned that in the upcoming legislative year, the DPR RI will continue discussions on 14 bills that are currently at the Level I Discussion stage. Additionally, there are 19 bills designated as DPR RI Initiative Bills, 4 bills in the harmonisation stage within the Legislative Body, 2_7 bills in the drafting stage within Council Completing Tools, and 8 ratifications of international conventions.

Meanwhile, Puan also addressed matters regarding the judicial review of laws against the 1945 Constitution in the Constitutional Court. During the 2025-2026 session, there were 418 cases filed. Of those, for the period between 15 August 2025 and 30 July 2026, the outcomes included: 3 cases granted in full; 32 cases granted in part; 105 cases rejected; 185 cases deemed inadmissible; and 80 cases withdrawn.

Furthermore, 12 cases were declared lapsed, and in one instance, the Constitutional Court declared it lacked the authority to decide the matter.

“The DPR RI maintains a high commitment to presenting legislation that is aligned with the 1945 Constitution of the Republic of Indonesia, ensuring legal certainty, possessing a strong basis of legitimacy, being able to meet the needs of the community, and supporting the achievement of national development goals,” said Puan.
