Puan Emphasises the Importance of Synergy Between the DPR RI and the Government in the Discussion of the RAPBN 2027

DPR RI Speaker Puan Maharani emphasises the importance of synergy between the DPR RI and the government in the discussion and drafting of the Rancangan Anggaran Pendapatan dan Belanja Negara (RAPBN) 2027. The statement was delivered at the 19th Plenary Meeting of the DPR RI in Session V for the 2025-2026 year at the DPR Building, Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, on Wednesday, 20 May 2026. The meeting, chaired by Puan and attended by Deputy Speakers Sufmi Dasco Ahmad, Saan Mustopa, and Sari Yuliati, was attended by President Prabowo Subianto and the Merah Putih Cabinet. The main agenda of the session was the presentation of the Kerangka Ekonomi Makro (KEM) and Pokok-Pokok Kebijakan Fiskal (PPKF) for the RAPBN for the 2027 Fiscal Year by President Prabowo Subianto. Puan said that all factions in the DPR would provide their views on 4 June 2026 regarding the draft presented by the government. “Thus we can evaluate whether the programme can be continued in the current year or the next year, so that a good collaboration is built in realising the programmes expected to improve the welfare of the people,” she said in an official statement released to Kompas.com on Wednesday. Through these discussions, the DPR hopes that the programmes implemented in 2026 can be thoroughly evaluated, while the 2027 programmes can be designed more effectively and implemented well. The document is expected to deliver tangible development benefits to the public, especially in improving welfare amidst global uncertainty. On that occasion, Puan also emphasised that the DPR will continue to support government programmes as long as they aim to improve the welfare of the people. “As the President’s hope is that mutual cooperation and togetherness in building the nation are for the welfare of the people and to strengthen the unity and integrity of the nation,” she said. “The President’s presence represents an important and strategic moment to emphasise that the draft APBN 2027 is directed to delivering the greatest possible benefits for the Indonesian people,” Puan added. She also thanked President Prabowo for attending the plenary session.
