PTUN Serang Closes Lawsuit, UIN Jakarta Ownership Strengthened
The Serang State Administrative Court (PTUN) has officially closed and concluded case Number 3/G/2026/PTUN.SRG after the panel of judges granted the plaintiff’s request to withdraw the lawsuit. The case previously concerned a lawsuit by the Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta Foundation against the Rector of UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta’s Decree Number 909 regarding the Organisational Structure of the School Business Entity.
Alwanih, legal counsel for the Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta Foundation, stated that according to information listed in the e-Court application, the case was declared concluded after the panel of judges accepted and granted the withdrawal of the lawsuit filed by the plaintiff. “Case Number 3/G/2026/PTUN.SRG has been declared closed and concluded. The panel of judges granted the request to withdraw the lawsuit filed by the plaintiff, thus ending the case examination process,” said Alwanih on Tuesday, 9 June 2026.
According to Alwanih, this development is inseparable from changes in the internal governance of the Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta Foundation that occurred during the trial process. During a meeting of the Foundation’s Board of Trustees, it was agreed to change the composition of the Board of Trustees by appointing the Rector of UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta as Chairman of the Board of Trustees ex officio, and the Vice Rectors as members of the Board of Trustees.
He continued that this change further reinforces the position of UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta as the legal owner of the Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta Foundation within the foundation’s structure and governance. “With the change in the composition of the Board of Trustees, the position of UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta as the legal owner of the foundation is increasingly affirmed in the organisation’s governance,” he said.
Following the change in the Board of Trustees, another meeting was held to determine the new composition of the Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta Foundation’s Management Board. Based on the meeting results, the position of Chairman is held ex officio by the Dean of the Faculty of Tarbiyah and Teacher Training (FITK), the Secretary is held by the Head of General Affairs, and the Treasurer is held by the Head of the Business Development Centre.
Alwanih explained that the change in management also impacted the legal steps taken by the foundation. The new management subsequently revoked the power of attorney previously granted to the former legal counsel and appointed new legal counsel to represent the foundation, including taking the step to withdraw the lawsuit being examined at the Serang PTUN.
