PTPP Ready to Follow Danantara's Decision on State-Owned Construction Companies Merger
PT PP (Persero) Tbk (PTPP) states that it is ready to follow the government’s decision regarding the planned merger of state-owned construction companies. The company supports the restructuring steps initiated by the State-Owned Enterprises Management Agency (BP BUMN) together with Danantara to strengthen the national construction industry.
PTPP Corporate Secretary Joko Raharjo said that this commitment emerged following a meeting led by the Head of BP BUMN and COO of Danantara, Dony Oskaria, with the directors of state-owned construction companies. The meeting discussed accelerating transformation and improving the performance of red-plate companies in the construction sector.
“PTPP fully supports the transformation steps initiated by BP BUMN and Danantara. The company is committed to carrying out these directives in a disciplined and consistent manner,” Joko said, quoted from a written statement on Friday, 17 April 2026.
Joko assessed that restructuring is an important step to strengthen the industry’s foundation. He emphasised that the company will implement strategic directives, ranging from improving the quality of financial reports, increasing compliance with regulations, to strengthening operational transparency.
PTPP’s management is also continuing to promote the implementation of good corporate governance and sustainable financial performance improvements. These efforts are expected to strengthen stakeholder confidence and enhance the company’s competitiveness.
In line with the restructuring process, the President Director of PT Waskita Karya (Persero) Tbk, Muhammad Hanugroho, previously stated that the merger of state-owned construction companies is still ongoing and is targeted to be completed in 2026. This process includes the integration of assets, human resources, and compliance aspects.
He mentioned that there are seven state-owned construction companies involved in the merger, namely PT Adhi Karya (Persero) Tbk, PT Wijaya Karya (Persero) Tbk, PT Hutama Karya (Persero), PTPP, PT Waskita Karya (Persero), PT Brantas Abipraya (Persero), and PT Nindya Karya (Persero).
While awaiting the integration process, Waskita Karya is focusing on accelerating asset divestment to reduce debt burden and funding costs. This step is taken to maintain performance sustainability during the ongoing restructuring process.
Meanwhile, the President Director of Adhi Karya, Entus Asnawi, stated that the company is still awaiting the final decision from Danantara regarding the merger scheme. He said that the company has prepared various projections and anticipatory steps, although he acknowledged that the integration process will be more complex because it involves both public and non-public companies.
