PTPP Initiates Recovery of Vital Infrastructure and Sanitation in Aceh
Jakarta (ANTARA) - PT PP (Persero) Tbk (PTPP) has initiated a range of strategic programmes focused on the recovery of vital infrastructure and sanitation for communities in the Bireuen, Pidie Jaya and Peusangan areas of Aceh province.
The initiative forms part of the company’s Corporate Social and Environmental Responsibility (TJSL) programme for disaster-affected communities in Sumatra.
“We understand that post-disaster recovery requires sustained support. That is why PTPP is present not only during the emergency phase, but also in the subsequent recovery stage that addresses the basic needs of communities, particularly in the areas of sanitation, clean water access and public facilities,” said PTPP Corporate Secretary Joko Raharjo in an official statement in Jakarta on Tuesday.
Joko explained that the strategic programmes encompass the renovation of prayer halls so that residents can worship comfortably again, the repair of clean water installations to ensure access to potable water, and the construction of hygienic public toilet facilities.
Additionally, repairs to other public facilities affected by flooding are being undertaken to support the return of normal community activities.
Through the implementation of responsive and structured programmes, Joko said the company’s role as a national construction firm extends beyond infrastructure development to making tangible contributions towards the recovery and improvement of quality of life for communities across various regions of Indonesia.
Previously, in collaboration with the Ministry of Public Works, the company had delivered emergency infrastructure construction, the installation of Bailey-type bridges to restore inter-regional access, and the construction of temporary housing at several affected locations in Aceh and North Sumatra.
Nationally, the construction of temporary housing is targeted at 15,000 units within the next three months, with PTPP involved in building 600 temporary housing units each in Aceh Tamiang district and North Aceh district.
Specifically in Aceh Tamiang district, PTPP has completed the construction of 94 temporary housing units based on a stilted system, ready for use by affected residents.
In North Aceh district, PTPP has also completed 118 units as of 15 January 2026.
