PTPN IV Distributes Rp264 Million for Education in Riau During First Half of 2026
Pekanbaru, (ANTARA) - PT Perkebunan Nusantara IV Regional III has disbursed assistance worth Rp264 million to support the improvement of children’s education quality in Riau Province through its Social and Environmental Responsibility (TJSL) programme in the first semester of 2026.
Region Head of PTPN IV Regional III Bambang Budi Santoso said the assistance took various forms, ranging from the rehabilitation of school buildings and classrooms, the provision of furniture, the strengthening of sanitation facilities, to donations of portable computers or laptops.
“Children are the nation’s next generation. That is why we want to play a part in strengthening the foundations of education in the areas surrounding our operations,” Bambang said in a written statement on the occasion of National Children’s Day in Pekanbaru on Thursday.
He explained that between January and June 2026, the TJSL programme in the education sector had reached ten educational institutions, including public schools, Islamic boarding schools (pesantren) and orphanage foundations. Each form of assistance provided was tailored to the real needs of each school so that it could deliver optimal benefits to the teaching and learning process.
Bambang added that the company’s commitment to education would continue into the second semester of this year. One of the programmes to be rolled out again is the strengthening of digital literacy through the provision of dozens of computer units complete with free internet (Wi-Fi) access to dozens of schools near the company’s operational areas.
He said the programme is an annual company agenda that has run continuously over the past five years as part of efforts to broaden access to information technology for the education sector, particularly in remote areas.
