PTPN III Integrates Sustainability into Plantation Business
The President Director of the Nusantara Plantation Holding Company, PTPN III (Persero), Denaldy Mulino Mauna, stated that sustainability is closely linked to the plantation business, which relies on the management of natural resources. According to Denaldly, environmental management must proceed alongside increased productivity and business performance.
“Carbon management, resource efficiency, and the use of renewable energy are part of our efforts to maintain business sustainability,” Denaldy said in a written statement in Jakarta on Friday (18/09/2026).
Denaldy noted that the transformation of PTPN involves not only corporate performance but also business management that considers environmental and social aspects. He added that the implementation of ESG principles in the plantation business has been recognised through two awards at the ESGBusiness Awards 2026 in Singapore on Thursday (17/09/2026), namely the Carbon Disclosure Award and the Renewable Energy Adoption Award.
“These awards serve as recognition of the company’s efforts to place sustainability as a core part of the plantation business transformation,” said Denaldy.
Denaldy believes that ESG is related to corporate transformation and the management of plantation businesses to create long-term value. “Moving forward, we will continue to integrate sustainability principles into the operations and business development of the PTPN Group,” Denaldy added.
Leonardo Alexander Renatus Pane, SVP of Strategy & Corporate Performance Management at PTPN III, stated that the awards received by PTPN III relate to two aspects of the company’s sustainability practices: transparency regarding carbon information and the implementation of renewable energy.
The ESGBusiness Awards 2026 evaluates nominations based on three aspects: uniqueness and innovation, effectiveness and impact, and dynamism. The assessment covers corporate innovation, the resulting impact, and the ability to adapt and implement continuous improvements.
The judging process involved ESG practitioners from several global consulting firms, including Bing Yi Lee from PwC Singapore, Arina Kok from Ernst & Young Consulting Sdn Bhd, Tanima Singh from Kearney, Josette Soh from Deloitte, and Cherine Fok from KPMG Singapore.
