PTPN Group Marks 81st Independence Day Through Community Empowerment and Self-Reliance
Holding Perkebunan Nusantara PTPN III (Persero) has affirmed its commitment to marking the 81st anniversary of Indonesian independence through the presence of a state-owned enterprise that does not merely perform a business function.
However, President Director of PTPN III (Persero), Denaldy Mulino Mauna, stressed that PTPN Group’s presence in this 81st Independence Day moment is also aimed at promoting community empowerment and building economic self-reliance in various regions.
“PTPN Group wants to ensure that the company’s presence can be felt by the community, especially through empowerment that builds capacity and self-reliance,” said Denaldy in his statement on Tuesday, 18 August 2026.
He explained that one form of this is realised through the Bakti BUMN Volunteer Programme 2026 in Bulok Village, Kalianda District, South Lampung Regency. The programme is part of efforts to strengthen community capacity while developing local potential sustainably.
In Bulok Village, the volunteers engaged in various activities that address community needs, ranging from education, strengthening MSMEs, improving the capacity of homestay managers, supporting nutritional fulfilment, health services, to environmental activities and the utilisation of productive land.
More than 40 MSME operators in Bulok Village have also received training in simple financial management and business digitalisation. Meanwhile, seven homestay managers received hospitality training to improve service quality, cleanliness, and comfort for tourists.
In the field of education, volunteers were present through the Relawan Mengajar programme at SDN Bulok and SDN 2 Bulok. Students received instruction on discipline and the prevention of drug abuse as part of efforts to build character and awareness from an early age.
The programme also touched on health and environmental aspects. Volunteers together with the community carried out posyandu activities, health check-ups, and supported the fulfilment of community nutrition.
On the other hand, 810 coconut seedlings were handed over and planted together with the Bulok Village Farmers Group to support reforestation as well as the utilisation of productive land, which is expected to provide economic benefits for the community.
“This series of activities is a simple form of how the spirit of independence is translated into everyday life. For PTPN Group, we translate that spirit through work, care, and a commitment to strengthening communities,” he said.
To commemorate the 81st Independence Day, PTPN Group also held a simple and solemn ceremony at Agro Plaza, Jakarta, on Monday, 17 August 2026. The commemoration served as a moment to reflect on the meaning of independence while strengthening PTPN Group’s commitment to continue providing benefits to the community.
