PTP Nonpetikemas Tanjung Priok Branch Implements Eco-Friendly Port Loading and Unloading Equipment
PTP Nonpetikemas, a subsidiary of PT Pelindo Multi Terminal, has reinforced its role in supporting the national industrial supply chain. This was achieved through handling the import unloading of 21,612 tonnes of steel billet and other commodities at the PTP Nonpetikemas Tanjung Priok Branch wharf in North Jakarta on Tuesday, 26 May 2026, using eco-friendly loading and unloading equipment.
The steel billet raw material was transported using the MV Shanghai Bulker vessel, with a length overall (LOA) of 190 metres, arriving from Nansha Port in China. The cargo is destined for PT The Master Steel Manufactory as part of efforts to sustain the supply of raw materials for the national manufacturing and steel industries.
Loading and unloading operations were conducted with adequate eco-friendly facilities and operational equipment to ensure a safe, smooth, and productive process. Handling this large volume of steel billet underscores PTP Nonpetikemas Tanjung Priok Branch’s readiness to serve national strategic commodity logistics.
PTP Nonpetikemas Tanjung Priok Branch Manager Ruly Arief Dwiyana stated that the activity reflects the company’s commitment to providing reliable and efficient multipurpose terminal services for industrial needs while being environmentally friendly. “To strengthen eco-friendly operational services, PTP Nonpetikemas Tanjung Priok Branch has electrified port loading and unloading equipment,” he said.
Today’s steel billet unloading, he clarified, demonstrates the company’s commitment to supporting the smooth distribution of industrial raw materials through environmentally friendly, safe, productive operational services prioritising zero accidents. Additionally, this aligns with the implementation of ISO 14001 environmental management systems, PROPER assessments, emission control, energy efficiency, waste management based on the 3R principle (reduce, reuse, recycle), and optimisation of eco-friendly loading and unloading processes.
Operationally, PTP Nonpetikemas Tanjung Priok Branch has implemented various innovations, including LED lighting, overhead cranes (OHC) to reduce reliance on fossil fuel-powered equipment, and the electrification of loading and unloading machinery such as Gantry Luffing Cranes (GLC) as part of a transition to low-emission operations.
In line with strengthening operational services, PTP Nonpetikemas continues to enhance service quality and infrastructure readiness to support national logistics needs, particularly strategic industrial sectors driving Indonesia’s economic growth.

PTP Nonpetikemas Tanjung Priok Branch Performance
Consolidated, PTP Nonpetikemas achieved a throughput of 12.4 million tonnes in Q1 2026, a 3.84% increase from the same period last year’s 11.9 million tonnes. Growth was driven by dry bulk traffic of 5.7 million tonnes, liquid bulk of 3 million tonnes, general cargo of 2.9 million tonnes, and bagged cargo of 656,000 tonnes.
In Q1 2026, the Tanjung Priok Branch contributed a dominant 58.82% of the company’s total revenue. Operationally, the Tanjung Priok Branch contributed a significant 32.4% to PTP Nonpetikemas’ total throughput, recording 4.03 million tonnes out of the consolidated throughput of 12.4 million tonnes.
Within the broader Pelindo Multi Terminal Group, PTP Nonpetikemas Tanjung Priok Branch recorded impressive throughput of 4.03 million tonnes, equivalent to 14% of the group’s total service throughput of 27.64 million tonnes.
Productivity performance in terms of Tonnes per Ship per Day (TSD) showed that for general cargo and bagged cargo, TSD reached 4,024 in Q1 2026; for liquid bulk, 1,746; and for dry bulk, 3,857.
“The Q1 2026 performance highlights the strategic role of Tanjung Priok Branch as a key contributor to PTP Nonpetikemas and Pelindo Multi Terminal Group’s growth,” Ruly said.
Year-on-year (YoY), there was a 6% increase compared to the previous year’s 4.03 million tonnes. This surge was primarily driven by a rise in dry bulk commodities of 1.41 million tonnes.
Supported by adequate multipurpose infrastructure, PTP Nonpetikemas Tanjung Priok Branch features a 3,314-metre wharf length, 158,342 square metres of storage yard, 26,191 square metres of warehouse space, and loading/unloading equipment including Gantry Luffing Cranes (GLC), hoppers, grabs, forklifts, and weighbridges.
Operational activities at the PTP Nonpetikemas Tanjung Priok Branch wharf today were dominated by handling various strategic commodities, including unloading crude palm oil (CPO), refined bleached deodorised oil (RBDO), and refined bleached deodorised soybean oil (RBDS), along with loading bulk cement, rice, mixed cargo, heavy machinery, vehicles, and general cargo to support inter-regional logistics distribution.
For liquid bulk commodities, unloading of CPO, RBDO, and RBDS continues to support industrial and energy distribution needs. Meanwhile, for dry bulk and general cargo, operational activities include loading rice, bulk cement, mixed cargo, heavy machinery, and vehicles.
