PT Pelabuhan Tanjung Priok (PTP Nonpetikemas) has dispatched 200 free passengers to Purwokerto, Central Java, as part of the Pelindo Group’s 2026 Free Mudik programme to support the smooth flow of Eid al-Fitr holiday travel.

“This forms part of the company’s Corporate Social and Environmental Responsibility (CSER) programme, which aims to assist communities in celebrating Eid al-Fitr with their families in their hometowns safely and comfortably,” said PTP Nonpetikemas Chief Executive Officer Indra Hidayat Sani in a statement in Jakarta on Monday.

He explained that the programme provided four bus units operating on the Jakarta-Purwokerto route (return trip) for communities in the company’s operational areas.

The departure of mudik participants was carried out through a flag-off ceremony organised by PT Pelabuhan Indonesia (Persero) at the Buffer Area of Tanjung Priok Port, Jakarta, on Monday (16 March), conducted simultaneously across the Pelindo Group.

Indra stated that the free mudik programme represents one form of the company’s concern for the community and part of the implementation of the CSER programme consistently carried out by the company.

“Through this Free Mudik programme, we want to help the community return to their hometowns safely and comfortably,” he said.

The activity also represents a tangible manifestation of the company’s commitment to providing social benefits to communities in its operational areas.

The 2026 Free Mudik programme with Pelindo Group carries the theme “Safe Mudik, Sharing Hope.”

Through participation in this programme, PTP Nonpetikemas hopes to continue contributing in providing tangible benefits to the community and supporting the smooth running of the mudik tradition, which forms an important part of Eid al-Fitr celebrations in Indonesia.

Pelindo Chief Executive Officer Achmad Muchtasyar stated that the activity forms part of Pelindo Group’s commitment through its CSER programme to provide tangible benefits to the community, particularly in supporting community mobility during the Eid al-Fitr mudik period.

He noted that public enthusiasm for the Pelindo Group’s free mudik programme continues to increase. In 2026, the number of participants increased to 7,570 people, compared to 7,198 participants in 2025, with various destinations across several regions in Indonesia.

In addition to providing transportation facilities, the company also presented various entertainment in the departure area, including a child-friendly zone as well as cosplay and clown performances.

“This is to create a warmer and more enjoyable atmosphere for participants before beginning their journey to their hometowns,” he said.

Trianto, one of the participants in the 2026 Mudik with Pelindo programme heading to Purwokerto, expressed his happiness at being able to participate in the free mudik programme organised by Pelindo.

He said that initially he did not obtain a ticket to participate in the programme. However, he eventually had the opportunity to join and return to his hometown through the free mudik service.

According to him, the free mudik programme was very helpful to the community. He hoped that similar services could be continuously improved in the future, both in terms of service quality and coordination of all parties involved.

“This is the first time I have participated in the free mudik programme from Pelindo. Initially, we actually did not obtain a ticket, but alhamdulillah, I was eventually able to participate in this programme and of course I am very happy,” said Trianto.
