PTDI and West Java Provincial Government sign MoU on 50-hectare sorghum mechanisation
Bandung (ANTARA) - PT Dirgantara Indonesia (PTDI), together with the West Java Provincial Government, an offtaker company, and Paguyuban Pasundan, has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on the development of sorghum commodity mechanisation in West Java covering 50 hectares of pilot land.
Under this cooperation scheme, the West Java Provincial Government will provide agricultural land, while PTDI will take a full role in designing, producing, and applying mechanisation equipment to process sorghum derivative products.
PTDI President Director Gita Amperiawan, speaking on the sidelines of the peak celebration of PTDI’s 50th anniversary at the PTDI Complex in Bandung on Saturday, emphasised that this breakthrough represents the company’s Corporate Social and Environmental Responsibility (TJSL) in combining manufacturing technology expertise with regional food needs.
“God willing, today we sign an MoU between the West Java Regional Government, the offtaker PT Santana Manggala Karya, PTDI, and under the auspices of Paguyuban Pasundan. We are signing a joint memorandum of agreement,” said Gita.
Gita explained that PTDI’s involvement in the sorghum commodity is not merely a ceremonial social action, but part of the company’s strategic mission to transfer precision industrial technology in order to modernise agricultural derivative equipment in West Java.
“PTDI’s task is to carry out mechanisation. So we produce various kinds of machines for the sorghum programme derivatives,” said Gita.
In addition to the food sector, PTDI is strengthening its educational network by designing a Goes to School programme and university collaborations with Paguyuban Pasundan to introduce the aerospace industry to the younger generation from an early age.
This step is aligned with the strengthening of the aviation industry ecosystem as a whole. On the same occasion, PTDI is preparing a training centre with an Approved Maintenance Training Organization (AMTO) cooperation in North Bali to produce certified graduates specialising in aircraft maintenance.
The strengthening of industrial capacity is also supported by the direction of Danantara Development to consolidate the diaspora of Indonesian aviation experts abroad, while affirming that PTDI is now not only focused on aircraft production, but is ready to build a comprehensive national industrial and technology cycle.
