PTDI and BAT Collaborate to Develop AI and Robotics-Based MRO Human Resources
Bandung (ANTARA) - PT Dirgantara Indonesia (PTDI) and Batam Aero Technic (BAT) have officially collaborated to develop human resources for aircraft maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) that are adaptive to artificial intelligence (AI) and robotics technologies.
This strategic step unites strengths to reduce dependence on foreign aircraft after-sales services by optimising domestic resources, marked by the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) by PTDI’s Director of Marketing, Technology, and Development, Moh Arif Faisal, and BAT’s Director, Capt. Daniel Putut Kuncoro Adi, at the Nurtanio Building in Bandung on Friday.
Following the MoU signing, BAT Director Capt. Daniel Putut Kuncoro Adi stated that through the collaboration with PTDI, his company sees significant opportunities to build human resources that are not only reliable technically.
“But also understand import and export mechanisms, and are adaptive to technological developments, including digitalisation, artificial intelligence, and robotics-based processes,” Daniel said in his statement.
Daniel added that BAT is ready to be the primary absorber of the best graduates from the training programme organised by PTDI’s Training Center, which is certified as an Authorised Maintenance Training Organisation (AMTO).
This synergy combines PTDI’s strengths as an industry in design, construction, and modification with AMO certification, with BAT holding DGCA certification number 145D-914 and trusted by various international operators, he said.
Meanwhile, PTDI’s Director of Marketing, Technology, and Development, Moh Arif Faisal, emphasised that the cooperation is a business expansion strategy to strengthen the value chain of the after-sales aerospace industry, whose market continues to grow.
“This collaboration not only focuses on utilising the resources of each party but also becomes part of PTDI’s efforts to increase competitiveness in the after-sales services sector,” Moh Arif said.
In addition to enhancing technical competencies, he said the collaboration is projected to add value to national industrial efficiency.
By optimising domestic facilities, MRO needs can be met more quickly and competitively, while creating new job opportunities and strengthening Indonesia’s sustainable aerospace industry supply chain.
