PTBA strengthens transformation and governance through 1MINDERP SAP system integration
PT Bukit Asam (Persero) Tbk (PTBA) is continuing to strengthen its corporate transformation through the implementation of 1MINDERP SAP, which covers various business lines ranging from finance, procurement, sales and mining operations to human resources. This system integration is a strategic step for the company in building increasingly connected, data-driven business processes supported by stronger and more integrated corporate governance. By integrating processes and data into a single system, PTBA is promoting more accurate information, more efficient work processes, and faster and more precise decision-making.
PTBA President Director Bambang Ismawan stressed that the SAP implementation is not merely the installation of a new application, but part of the company’s transformation. “What is shifting is not just the display on the screen, but the people, the workflows, the data, the technology, and the governance as well. Work that previously ran separately is now interconnected, figures that were once scattered now converge on a single source, and decisions can be made more quickly on a stronger basis,” he explained.
Bambang said the success of this transformation should be measured by the benefits it generates for the company, such as reliable financial reports, clean data, more streamlined processes, stronger internal oversight, and sharper management decisions. “No change is too great for an organisation that is willing to move in unison. We have already proven that we are capable of change. The next task is to ensure that this change is truly reflected in the company’s performance,” he added.
Meanwhile, PTBA President Commissioner Ida Bagus Putu Dunia affirmed that the implementation of 1MINDERP SAP is part of a governance transformation involving the entire organisation and is directed at creating sustainable value. “SAP is not simply about replacing an application, but about changing the way we work, make decisions, manage data, and account for business processes. Technology enables transformation, but governance determines the creation of sustainable value,” Ida said.
Ida added that the system integration will strengthen transparency, internal control and accountability. Implementation readiness has also passed various assurance stages as well as user capability strengthening. “Ultimately, the true asset of this transformation is not the system itself, but the capabilities we build through that system,” he said.
Following the go-live, PTBA is continuing the stabilisation and system development phase to support reliable financial reporting, operational excellence, stronger internal controls, better decision-making, and increasingly solid integration within the MIND ID Group.
