PTBA strengthens logistics infrastructure to boost efficiency and competitiveness

Jakarta (ANTARA) — PT Bukit Asam Tbk (PTBA) is continuing to strengthen its mining and logistics infrastructure to improve supply chain efficiency and reinforce the competitiveness of its coal business amid the dynamics of the commodity industry.

PTBA’s Finance and Risk Management Director, Una Lindasari, said the Tanjung Enim project is one of the strategic infrastructure projects ensuring that the company’s coal logistics system becomes increasingly integrated.

“The Tanjung Enim–Kramasan project is one of the strategic projects to increase transport capacity and strengthen the company’s coal logistics and distribution system,” Una said during the Public Expose Live 2026 webinar, attended online in Jakarta on Monday.

She said the progress of the Tanjung Enim–Kramasan project has so far reached around 93 per cent. The project is directed at increasing coal transport capacity while strengthening the company’s distribution system.

PTBA is also committed to accelerating the realisation of strategic projects through the Coal Handling Facility (CHF) and Train Loading Station, or TLS 6-7, on the Tanjung Enim–Kramasan coal transport route.

To support the acceleration of the projects, PTBA has secured funding commitments through term sheets with banks of the Association of State-Owned Banks (Himbara) in the form of a senior term loan facility worth Rp3.56 trillion.

According to Una, the development of these various facilities is intended not only to increase coal transport and loading capacity, but also to drive supply chain efficiency.

“Strengthening infrastructure is part of our strategy to improve business efficiency and competitiveness,” she said.

Una said the development of the Tanjung Enim–Kramasan project as well as the CHF and TLS 6-7 facilities is being driven so that the company’s coal logistics system becomes more integrated and able to optimally meet customer needs with greater capacity and a stronger distribution system.

The infrastructure strengthening is also part of PTBA’s long-term strategy to build a healthy and sustainable business.

Una said that with this strategy, PTBA is optimistic it can sustain growth while making a greater contribution to national energy security and the economy.
