PTBA prepares operations and coal production plans for 2027

PT Bukit Asam (Persero) Tbk (PTBA) is preparing reliable operations to ensure production sustainability, alongside its coal production planning for the year 2027.

PTBA President Director Bambang Ismawan stated in Jakarta on Monday that the planning process takes into account government approvals, domestic supply priorities, and export market dynamics amidst the energy transition.

“PTBA is in the process of submitting the proposed 2027 production plan to the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM). We consistently prioritise domestic supply needs while closely monitoring export market opportunities,” said Bambang.

He added that national coal production targets fall under the authority of the Ministry of ESDM. Government approval serves as a reference for producers to align production plans with domestic requirements, strategic reserves, and market conditions.

Bambang also noted that the company has submitted a request to the Minister of ESDM regarding the approval to use PT Satria Bahana Sarana (PT SBS) as an affiliated mining contractor service company.

This submission is part of an effort to ensure that operational activities run in accordance with regulations while maintaining production supply for national energy security.

“PTBA respects and supports government policies in strengthening the governance of mining service businesses. We have submitted a request for approval to use PT SBS to the Minister of ESDM and will continue to coordinate throughout every evaluation process conducted based on applicable regulations,” said Bambang.
