PTBA and South Sumatra Police Strengthen Synergy for Vital Object Security and Energy Resilience
The South Sumatra Regional Police (Polda Sumsel) has strengthened its commitment to maintaining the stability of vital national objects and supporting Indonesia’s energy resilience through enhanced synergy with PT Bukit Asam Tbk (PTBA), a strategic national energy company. The reinforced cooperation was affirmed during an audience between PT Bukit Asam Tbk President Director Letjen TNI (Purn.) Bambang Ismawan, along with the board of directors, and South Sumatra Police Chief Irjen Pol Sandi Nugroho at the Delegation Room on the 2nd floor of the Presisi Building at the South Sumatra Police Headquarters. During the audience, the South Sumatra Police Chief directly received the PTBA delegation, accompanied by the South Sumatra Police’s Principal Officials.
Sandi Nugroho asserted that his party is ready to provide full support for the operational security of PT Bukit Asam Tbk in accordance with the duties and authority of the Indonesian National Police. “Every issue that arises in the field can be coordinated through the relevant functions, whether it involves vital object security, intelligence, criminal investigation, or other operational functions, so that resolutions can be carried out professionally, objectively, and in accordance with applicable legal provisions,” Sandi explained in a written statement on Wednesday (8/7/2026).
Sandi also assessed that PT Bukit Asam is not only a prized asset of South Sumatra but also one of the national strategic companies that makes a major contribution to Indonesia’s energy resilience. Therefore, the continuity of the company’s operations must be maintained together through the synergy of all stakeholders. “PT Bukit Asam is an icon of South Sumatra as well as a strategic national asset that has a major contribution to Indonesia’s energy resilience. The South Sumatra Police is committed to providing professional, objective security support in accordance with legal provisions so that all of the company’s operational activities can run safely, smoothly, and provide maximum benefits for the community, the region, and the interests of the nation and state,” he stressed.
The meeting served as a strategic forum to strengthen the coordination of vital national object security, increase the effectiveness of cross-sector communication, and ensure the operational continuity of a company that plays an important role in sustaining the national energy supply. PT Bukit Asam Tbk President Director Letjen TNI (Purn.) Bambang Ismawan expressed appreciation for the synergy that has been established with the South Sumatra Police. PTBA hopes that the good support and coordination can continue to be strengthened in facing various operational dynamics in the field.
