PT TPS Ensures Smooth Operations Ahead of Idul Fitri
Surabaya – PT Terminal Petikemas Surabaya (TPS) has assured operational readiness to face the Idul Fitri period of 1447 Hijri through a series of anticipatory measures, namely berthing arrangements, equipment readiness, reinforcement of human resources, and cross-stakeholder coordination.
Intensive coordination has been established with Customs, Quarantine, the Police, and related business operators to ensure terminal services run without impediment throughout the peak period.
‘We plan berthing schedules, reinforce equipment, and enhance coordination so that loading and unloading activities proceed in an orderly, safe and timely manner even as traffic increases,’ said Didik Kurniawan, Senior Vice President of Operations at Terminal Petikemas Surabaya, in Surabaya on Thursday.
TPS is implementing the Berth Allocation Strategy to speed up berthing and loading/unloading processes, and to optimise the utilisation of Integrated Planning and Control (PnC) as the centre of operational coordination.
The company is also preparing loading/unloading equipment, including the operation of a new Electrical Rubber-Tired Gantry (E-RTG), to support the smooth flow of receiving and delivery, he said.
Internal readiness strengthening, he said, is being pursued through workforce optimisation, facilities and equipment, traffic control arrangements, and enforcement of Health, Safety, Security and Environment (HSSE) standards.
As part of mitigating the surge in activity, he said TPS is developing forecasts for Berth Occupancy Ratio (BOR) and Yard Occupancy Ratio (YOR).
TPS will also prepare stacking area arrangements through the use of Flexible Block, buffer blocks, and the utilisation of additional blocks such as W1–W4 and railway areas.
The relocation of storage site (PLP) implementation will also be carried out in cooperation with Bea Cukai and the PLP depot.
Currently, he added, TPS’s YOR stands within safe limits, at an average of 50.7 percent, with import YOR at 47.86 percent and export YOR at 53.61 percent.
Didik emphasised his commitment to safeguarding the smooth flow of national logistics through safe, measured, and responsive terminal services, particularly during the Eid period.
